One place – a thousand stories
The Entombment of Christ has found a wonderful home
The artwork Entombment of Christ has received great honor. It traveled from Jossgrund to Italy as an art project in image, sound and word at the world’s largest biennial for art with paper, was on display as a spatial installation with a sound and light concept at the Kleinsassen art station, and last year was in dialogue with an expressive wooden sculpture from 1498 at the Museum of Modern Art at Klosterneuburg Abbey near Vienna.
In the “Escorial of Austria”, Klosterneuburg Abbey, founded in the 12th century and once expanded to impressive size and splendor by Kaiser Karl VI, you will find one of Austria’s most renowned art treasures. It includes, for example, the Verdun Altar and the Austrian Archducal Crown. The Entombment of Christ has been included in this collection. This place with a thousand stories is always worth a visit.
